2022 Brennan B2 Pinot Noir
Grape
Pinot Noir
Its Origins
The Brennan Family first arrived in New Zealand from Ireland on the SS Otaki in 1877. Sean Brennan's father, Dr. Sir Murray Brennan, was born in Auckland and studied medicine at the University of Otago. He was always drawn to Central Otago and the family first purchased land here in the 1970’s. In 1994, the Brennan family bought a plot of land in Gibbston and began establishing the vineyard, planting some of the first vines in this region, and haven’t looked back.
What The Critics Say
94/100 Cameron Douglas MS
"The bouquet and palate suggest a wine that has settles into the next and early phase of development with a nice harmony between fruits and barrels spices, the regional tick of savoury dried herb qualities and site. As the wine touches the palate the sense of complexity, energy and completeness unfurl and captivate the senses. Delicious, fresh and dry, polished tannins and core complexity that just keeps speaking. Well-made and very lengthy with best drinking from 2025 through 2035++."
94/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim (2014 vintage)
"This is splendidly complex and inviting on the nose with dark berry, wild thyme, almond, warm mushroom and smoked game notes, leading to a beautifully rounded palate that's soothing and lingering. Gorgeously elegant and harmonious, making it highly appealing. At its best: now to 2025. $35.00. www.brennanwines.com. May 2022."
