2023 Craggy Range Te Muna Martinborough Pinot Noir

94 Points Richard Caro

Craggy score highly yet again with this delicious Martinborough Pinot. With earthy bramble fruits in a ripe and aromatic form, this a poised yet complete wine focused on that floral and savoury stuff Pinot does so well. It is lovely now with food, but even better if you put another five bottles aside to drink at your chosen intervals. Stunning.

Its Origins

Craggy Range began with the desire to create a legacy. When Terry Peabody visited New Zealand in 1997 he was introduced to Steve Smith, MW. Terry sensed an exciting possibility in New Zealand; the exceptional climate and spirit of the people aligned with his own philosophy and desire to cut a new path. He wanted to create wines that would become internationally regarded as New World classics. The two men made an important decision from the beginning - to select and source the best land in the country, and to plant the vines perfectly suited to that soil and climate. The winery - one of the most technically advanced ever built in New Zealand - is known for uncompromising standards and meticulous craftsmanship.

What The Critics Say

95/100 Bob Campbell MW (2022 vintage)

"Charming wine with finesse and a floral emphasis together with dark cherry/berry and assorted spice/anise flavours plus nicely integrated classy French oak. The wine is topped off with a seductively silken texture."
