2023 Gran Vinum Esencia Divina Albarino
Grape
Albarino
Its Origins
"The Piñeiro Cores family has grown wine for generations. They began by cultivating small vineyards, then gradually reorganized and replaced the original grape variety with Albariño grapes on small plots of land across the Rias Baixas region. Adegas Gran Vinun was created in 2002 to continue the family style, and currently produces Albariño wines which are included in the D.O. Rias Baixas. Adegas Gran Vinun’s vineyards are ideally located on hillsides overlooking the Umia River and the Ría de Arosa near Cambados in the Pontevedra province, Galicia." (Skurnik wines)
What The Critics Say
93/100 Wine Enthusiast, Mike Desimone (2022 vintage)
"This pale straw-colored wine has a bouquet of nectarine and orange blossom. Vivid acidity and a soft texture offer a pleasing backdrop to apricot, honeydew melon and Turkish Delight flavors with a closing note of saline."
92/100 Vinous, Josh Raynolds (2020 vintage)
“Vivid, green-tinged straw. Fresh citrus and orchard fruit scents, along with chalky mineral and ginger overtones. Conveys a suave blend of concentration and energy to the juicy Meyer lemon, pear skin and honeysuckle flavors. A hint of tarragon emerges with air and lingers on the very long, lively, focused finish. All stainless steel."
