2023 Tour Saint Christophe Saint Emilion Grand Cru En Primeur
En Primeur product: order now for arrival mid 2026. This lush Grand Cru is becoming something of a staff and customer favourite. Consultant winemaker Michel Rolland has let out all the stops, drawing forth the mouth-filling richness of a great Saint-Emilion Merlot and embellishing it with Cabernet Franc spice. This will age well, but will also decant nicely in the near future. Unlike other retailers (who charge a second payment on arrival), our En Primeur prices are the total and final landed cost, including GST. With the changing economic situation and foreign exchange risk, we do this to ensure you have complete certainty over what you will pay.

Its Origins
This is a property seeing a huge rise in quality over the past decade. Château Tour Saint Christophe was acquired by Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen in 2012. The property isolated on the apppellation of Saint-Emilion situated at the limit between the two villages of Saint- Émilion and Saint Christophe des Bardes. Today the estate adds 20 hectares. The Château overlooks beautiful dry stone terraces several hundred years old on a chalky-clay terroir. Aware of the richness of the legacy of the past and to preserve it, they undertook to restore Château Tour Saint Christophe. The objective was to revive their vineyard terraces with the disassembling and the reconstruction of this dry stone equipment as it had been built in the 18th century. About1.5 km of dry-stone terraces have been renovated by re-shaping each stone by hand.
What The Critics Say
95-96/100 James Suckling
“The quality of fruit and salty undertones from the limestone soil are really delicious and exciting. Medium to full body and very fine, velvety tannins that spread across the palate. Bright and crunchy at the end. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc."
94-96/100 The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve
"Black raspberries, flowers, black cherries, licorice, and plums pack the perfume. The palate is vivacious, with layers of sweet, black, and red plums, cherries, and raspberries. Texturally, the wine is perfectly poised between its energetic and soft, polished side, finishing with accents of salt, and spice that complement its sweet, red fruits. The wine is made from blending 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc. 14.8% ABV, 3.35 pH. The harvest took place from September 18 to October 7." Drink 2028 - 2048
93-95/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“A killer bottle of wine in the making, the 2023 Château Tour Saint Christophe checks in as a normal blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc that's resting in just 25% new French oak, with the balance in once-used barrels and a small amount in foudre. It sports a deep purple hue as well as a rocking bouquet of cassis and black raspberries interwoven with spring flowers, hints of leather, and a brilliant sense of minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with juicy acidity, ripe tannins, and beautiful overall balance, it's another riveting wine from this estate.”
