Pinot Gris
Its Origins
Established in 2004, Two Rivers of Marlborough takes its name from the iconic rivers that feed the wine growing heart of Marlborough’s renowned Wairau and Awatere Valleys. It was in the Awatere valley, overlooking the braided river, that founder and winemaker David Clouston spent his childhood. He now lives in the Wairau valley, where he has made his home and his mark on the wine industry. Two Rivers of Marlborough's mission is to select the finest parcels of fruit from the banks of both the Wairau and Awatere rivers and to craft wines that express the different microclimates peculiar to these two rivers.
What The Critics Say
95/100 Raymond Chan Reviews, Candice Chow
95/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"A stylish rendition with fabulous fruit purity; the inviting bouquet shows poached pear, subtle spice, citrus peel and white floral nuances, followed by a finely textured palate offering refinement and poise. Elegantly framed by juicy acidity, finishing persistent and satisfying. At its best: now to 2030. $23.00. www.tworivers.co.nz. Oct 2023." Drink 2023 - 2030
93/100 Bob Campbell MW
"Silken, creamy pinot gris with talcum powder texture and gentle stewed pear, peach and honeysuckle flavours. An initial hint of sweetness is partly balanced by gentle acidity to give an off-dry finish. Serve well chilled to help emphasise the acidity. 24 Oct 2023." Drink 2023 - 2027
