2022 Tour Saint Christophe Saint Emilion Grand Cru En Primeur
En Primeur product: order now for arrival mid 2025. This lush Grand Cru is becoming something of a staff and customer favourite. Consultant winemaker Michel Rolland has let out all the stops, drawing forth the mouth-filling richness of a great Saint-Emilion Merlot and embellishing it with Cabernet Franc spice. This will age well, but will also decant nicely in the near future. Unlike other retailers (who charge a second payment on arrival), our En Primeur prices are the total and final landed cost, including GST. With the changing economic situation and foreign exchange risk, we do this to ensure you have complete certainty over what you will pay.

Its Origins
This is a property seeing a huge rise in quality over the past decade. Château Tour Saint Christophe was acquired by Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen in 2012. The property isolated on the apppellation of Saint-Emilion situated at the limit between the two villages of Saint- Émilion and Saint Christophe des Bardes. Today the estate adds 20 hectares. The Château overlooks beautiful dry stone terraces several hundred years old on a chalky-clay terroir. Aware of the richness of the legacy of the past and to preserve it, they undertook to restore Château Tour Saint Christophe. The objective was to revive their vineyard terraces with the disassembling and the reconstruction of this dry stone equipment as it had been built in the 18th century. About1.5 km of dry-stone terraces have been renovated by re-shaping each stone by hand.
What The Critics Say
95-97/100 Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve
“Deep purple in hue, the wine pops with blackberries, black cherries, licorice, flowers, wet earth, and blue fruit on the nose. The palate, is rich, lush, and packed with layers of chalk, black cherries, chocolate, espresso and 5 spice. The finish is creamy, vibrant, and loaded with sweet, ripe, dark red fruits that linger. The wine is made from blending 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc. 15% ABV, 3.45 pH. The harvest took place September 10-October 3. Yields were 39 hectoliters per hectare." Drink 2026 - 2048
95-96/100 James Suckling
"Iodine, crushed stone, salt, oyster shell, ink pot. Fascinating. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with a firm framing of fruit, with fine tannins and electric acidity. Exceptional. pH of 3.48 with just under 15% alcohol. Still thinking about this."
94-96/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“Another great wine from this château, the 2022 Château Tour Saint Christophe checks in as 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc brought up in 25% new French oak. It has a great nose of red plums, cassis, chalky minerality, and spice, and this full-bodied Saint-Emilion is impeccably balanced, with a pure, graceful mouthfeel, fine tannins, and outstanding length. The purity of fruit here is truly terrific.”
