94 Points Cameron Douglas MS
In stock
A deliciously dry Rose from Neudorf. Delicate and with effortless harmony, this dry Rose was made from low-cropping Pinot fruit from the Tom's block. Super-gentle pressing and light extraction was followed by wild yeast fermentation and a small portion softened in old oak. It's organic and vegan with that palpable Neudorf sense of quality. This will sell out!

Its Origins

Nelson is the sunniest viticultural region in New Zealand. Relatively isolated, it has never developed into large scale production but several wineries have established an excellent reputation for quality. Prime amongst these is Neudorf, created by pioneers Tim & Judy Finn back in the late 1970s. The winery buildings have developed steadily since 1980, and so has the reputation of this excellent producer specialising predominantly in chardonnay and pinot noir. Their flagship wines are designated by the subregion of Moutere. The Neudorf estate, lying on a mix of glacial outwash clay, now represents 12ha, though buys in fruit from a further 30ha (of managed vineyards). The viticulture is sustainable "lutte raisonnée" with organic practices being introduced since 2008. The wines are all made with minimal intervention; hand harvesting, wild yeast, low S02 and soft, supporting oak

What The Critics Say

94/100 Cameron Douglas MS

"I love the bouquet of this wine with a distinctive rose-hip chilled tea and exotic flowers scents, these translate to palate and meld with flavours of peach and nectarine, tropical fruits and iced-tea flavours. The lees and acidity layer in texture while the fine fruit tannins deliver mouthfeel. A delicious and serious wine not to be missed." Drink 2024 - 2026
