What The Critics Say
Winemaker notes on current 2023 vintage
"Pale straw colour with green hues. Gala apple, lemon curd and freshly baked bread characterise the nose. The palate possesses mineral notes, positive salinity and line of sappy fruit. -- The 2023 vintage presented significant challenges [but] Chenin Blanc is a late ripening white varietal, and hence was still hard and green when the deluge hit. The fruit remained in excellent condition. Our patience was rewarded with a harvest of ripe Chenin Blanc in great condition."
95/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2021 vintage)
"A focussed, taut and varietal bouquet with an apple, lees and gentle white spice complexity, moments of quince and brown skinned pear. Youthful and enticing. Fantastic on the palate with a taut, precise touch, flavours of fresh apple and quince, baked apple and a fie lees quality, a whisper of spice and back bone of acidity. A delicious wine, well made and ready to drink."
94/100 Bob Campbell MW (2022 vintage)
"Intense chenin blanc with impressive depth and an almost chewy texture. Youthful wine with locked-in flavours suggesting green apple, cashew nuts and ginger. The wine shows promise for bottle development and deserves to be left for at least 4-5 years before opening."
