2023 Chateau Barthes Bandol Rose
Grape
Grenache-led blend with Mourvèdre and Cinsault
Its Origins
Chateau de Font Vive is exposed to the South-South West, extending over the towns of Beausset, Sanary, La Cadière d’Azur, Le Castellet and Evenos. Grenache and Cinsault grapes cultivated by traditional and integrated methods, “gobelet” pruned and are set on iron wire. The estate is owned by the namesake of this wine, Philippe Barthes.
What The Critics Say
Decanter Magazine, Sylvia Wu (2021 vintage)
"This Bandol rosé is a blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache. Instantly pleasing with fragrant red berry, acacia blossom with a flinty edge on the nose. A zesty attack leads to a juicy, ripe mid-palate of strawberry and raspberry, balanced with elegant acidity and lime zest, plus a pinch of herbs, followed by a cleansing finish."
