Its Origins

Johanneshof Cellars is a boutique, artisan winery producing wines from hand harvested grapes only sourced from their vineyards and growers in Marlborough. It is jointly owned and operated by Edel Everling, a fifth generation winemaker from Germany and Warwick Foley from Marlborough. Both winemakers trained in the world-famous wine area of Rheingau, Germany, where Edel studied for her degree in viticulture and oenology at Geisenheim University while Warwick was a guest student there. They continued to work for renowned wineries in Germany and New Zealand before setting up Johanneshof Cellars in 1991.

What The Critics Say

94/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim (2018 vintage)

"A wonderful rendition of the variety; the gorgeously lifted bouquet shows golden peach, poached pear, rockmelon and spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that is supple and lingering. The wine offers excellent fruit power and intensity, while remaining balanced and structured with an impressively long silky finish. www.johanneshof.co.nz. March 2019." Drink 2019 - 2022
