Its Origins
Gibbston Valley Winery is located less than half an hour’s drive north of Queenstown on the Kawarau River. Known as the “Valley of Vines” in an area planted extensively with vineyards and orchards and dotted with the remnants of original gold mining settlements. As one of the region’s founding wineries their focus is always on handcrafting premium wines and honouring the traditions that have made them a world-renowned destination, since releasing Central Otago's first commercial vintage in 1987. All their wine is unfined, unfiltered and sustainably produced.
What The Critics Say
95/100 Bob Campbell MW
"Taut, elegant pinot noir with a distinctive mix of spice flavours that I find quite appealing. Smooth-textured wine that is a pleasure to taste. Don't let the wine get too warm. I chilled mine to 14C. 18 JAN 2024." Drink 2024 - 2030
