Laurent Perrier N.V Rose Champagne
Grape
Pinot Noir Chardonnay Blend
Its Origins
Established in 1812, Champagne Laurent-Perrier is one of the most distinguished family-owned Champagne Houses. Based in the heart of Champagne, in Tours-sur-Marne, Laurent-Perrier has a pedigree for innovation, handcrafting a diverse and pioneering range of fine champagnes that are produced to traditional, time-honored methods. The House was acquired by the Nonancourt family in 1949 and for 50 years Bernard de Nonancourt dedicated his life to innovating and perfecting Laurent-Perrier champagne. The success of Laurent-Perrier was also driven by the energy of Bernard de Nonancourt’s family – his two daughters Alexandra and Stéphanie joined the House in 1987 and are now members of the Management Board. Today, the House of Laurent-Perrier is the largest independent champagne brand worldwide. The 150 hectares of vines owned directly by Laurent-Perrier are all kept with environmentally-friendly methods.
What The Critics Say
5 Stars Cuisine
"Excellent rosé Champagne with a bit of a cult following, Laurent-Perrier delivers perfumed red berry and red apple aromas, some savoury herbal touches and integrated subtle yeastiness in excellent harmony. The finish is very long and it reprises the fragrance of the nose with seductive persistence."
93/100 Parker's Wine Advocate, Stephan Reinhardt
"The NV Cuvée Rosé Brut is 100% Pinot Noir based on 2008 (90%). The color is an intense orange-colored pink and the nose offers beautifully subtle, but also deep, intense flavors of ripe and macerated Pinot Noir and lemon. There is also great purity and finesse on the structured palate. The finish is fresh and reveals a perfect fruit. This Rosé drinks almost like a light red wine...Chef de cave François Cotard tries to extract the maximum of the aromatic part of the fruit to keep the natural freshness. That's why he ferments at controlled temperatures at 16 to 17 degrees Celsius in nothing but stainless steel vats. All of the cuvées undergo malolactic fermentation. Since Cotard protects his musts and wines from oxidation and racks the wines from the first lees very early, the wine style of LP is a very clear and reductive one. The assemblages of varieties, terroirs and vintages are made with the goal of keeping the freshness, finesse and elegance of the wines. The wines receive their maturity only from the aging on the lees from the second fermentation. Laurent-Perrier's range of Champagnes remains the same since 1982. All of the cuvées are excellent gastronomic Champagnes that go very well with food – or as an aperitif." Drink 2016 - 2028
92/100 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
"(100% saignée Pinot Noir): Vivid orange-pink. An expressive, spice-accented bouquet evokes fresh raspberry, orange pith, white flowers and ginger, with a hint of rhubarb adding an earthy flourish. Sappy and broad in the mouth, offering intense red fruit and bitter citrus flavors underscored by chalky mineral and white pepper notes. Rich yet lively rosé with excellent closing thrust and floral persistence."
